How do I pay for services? |
We are now accepting the following insurance providers: |
What happens if I miss an appointment? |
We understand that sometimes unexpected things happen and it may become necessary for you to cancel your appointment. Our providers put in their best efforts to provide you with the highest quality care. However, to help us accommodate other patients in need, we kindly request that you notify us at least 24 hours in advance if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. This will allow us to possibly fill that appointment time with someone else. |
No Surprises Act |
Under section 2799B-6 of the Public Health Service Act, we are required to provide a Good Faith Estimate of expected charges for potential related charges when patients are not using an insurance provider. This will be an estimate that addresses the fees regarding an individual session. |
What should I expect at the first appointment? Adult |
Your first session can leave you wondering what to expect! This first session will be different than other sessions. There will be a lot of questions, often relating to what was put in your intake questionnaire. This is so your clinician can help build an individualized treatment plan for you surrounded by your goals for therapy! |
What should I expect at the first appointment? Minor Clients |
With all minor clients, we ask that a parent or legal guardian are present to physically consent to the beginning of the therapeutic relationship. Therefore at the start of the appointment, your child's therapist will take back you and the minor client for roughly 15 minutes to get background information and begin the consent for therapy services. |
How long should therapy last?
|
Your therapeutic journey is unique to you, therefore there is no set amount of time that therapy will take. However, our goal is to work ourselves out of a job, so we want to work with you in your timeline to meet your goals! |
What if I see my provider out in public? |
Privacy and confidentiality is of the utmost importance to our providers. Therefore, if you see your provider out in public, they will not acknowledge that they know you, unless you acknowledge them first. |
How can I verify my provider? |
Every counselor in our office takes their licensure seriously, and you can verify their licensure with the state of North Carolina. First, go to the provider's licensing board's website. For our office it is either the NCBLCMHC (for LCMHC) or the NCMFTLB (for LMFT) verify a license page. Put in your clinician's name! From there you can see your clinician's licensure information! *Please note: any graduate interns are in the process of completing their education and have not earned licensure in the state of North Carolina* |
Why should I read my provider's PDS? |
Your provider's Professional Disclosure Statement or PDS has in-depth information about your provider's therapy style and what their expectations are from therapy. The PDS discusses other information such as billing, sickness, and means of contacting them. This is a binding contract that you and your provider are signing, make sure you know what is discussed! |
Can I bring my child and have them sit in the waiting room? |
