Elizabeth Thomas
MA, LCMHC, RPT
Counselor/Play Therapist

Picture

I obtained a Master of Arts Degree in Community Counseling from Regent University in 2007. In 2009, I became licensed in the state of North Carolina as a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC). I became a Registered Play Therapist in 2012 from the Association for Play Therapy.

I am passionate about working with children and adolescents (ages 3-11). My therapeutic process is to employ Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Child Centered Play Therapy (CCPT) with the clients. I have worked in multiple settings including a DV agency, private practice, and EAP. I also treat women ages 55 and older using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with concerns of depression and anxiety. I am eager to walk along with the client to improve their overall well-being.

Please note the following areas of concern that are outside the scope of my practice and therefore I do not treat and will provide a referral if necessary: Substance Use Disorders and other Addictions, Intellectual Disabilities, Communication, Specific Learning and Motor Disorders, OCD, Eating Disorders, Schizophrenia, Grief, Neurocognitive, Dissociative, and Paraphilic Disorders. I do not diagnose ADHD or ASD but I do treat the symptoms.
